Speaking at the Envision booth on the opening day of WindEnergy Hamburg 2026, Ashoka Li, Managing Director, Turkey Saudi Arabia & Caucasus Region at Envision Energy, outlined the company’s latest onshore and offshore technology and its long-term plans for Türkiye. The conversation covered integrated wind, storage and AI solutions, lessons from Envision’s first 232 MW project in the country, and what success will look like over the next one to two years.
Interview: Habib Babacan, Managing Director at Mature Capital
Publication: Rüzgar Enerjisi Dergisi / Wind Energy Magazine
WindEnergy Hamburg brings the global onshore and offshore wind industry together under one roof, and on the first day of the 2026 edition Rüzgar Enerjisi Dergisi continued its series of interviews with industry leaders and decision-makers. At the Envision Energy booth, Habib Babacan, Managing Director at Mature Capital, spoke with Ashoka Li, who leads the company’s business in Turkey, Saudi Arabia and the Caucasus region.
Envision used the fair to present its latest onshore and offshore wind turbines, alongside a broader message about combining wind technology, battery storage and AI into integrated systems. For the Turkish market, the timing is significant: the company’s first 232 MW wind project in the country is approaching delivery.
In the interview, Li explains what Envision has learned from that project so far, why he sees local execution as the key to making global technology work in Türkiye, and which capabilities the company intends to build in the country over the coming months.

Envision Energy Brings Together Wind, Storage and AI
WindEnergy Hamburg brings the offshore and onshore wind industry together, and Envision is here as well. What is Envision’s main message at this year’s fair, and what would you most like visitors and partners to understand about the company’s direction?
Ashoka Li: Envision is bringing the next generation of wind technology. Here in Hamburg we are presenting our latest offshore and onshore wind turbines. Our offshore model is the EN-252, a turbine with a rotor diameter of 252 metres.
We are also showing how we bring wind technology, battery storage and AI technology together and integrate them into one intelligent system. For our customers, that means better performance, grid integration and better long-term value.

Lessons from the First 232 MW Project in Türkiye
Envision’s first project in Türkiye, a 232 MW wind project, is now approaching delivery. What have you learned from this project so far, and how will that experience shape Envision’s vision for the Turkish market?
Ashoka Li: The lesson is simple: global technology must be supported by strong local execution.
Through Karaman, we have gained valuable experience in the Turkish market — in areas such as certification, grid requirements and project delivery. We are now using that experience to build local service and spare parts capabilities.
Karaman is not only our first major project in Türkiye; it is the foundation for our long-term delivery and services platform.
“Envision Is in Türkiye for the Long Term”
When WindEnergy Hamburg 2026 closes, what concrete message should the Turkish market take away from Envision?
Ashoka Li: The message is very clear: Envision is in Türkiye for the long term. We are not here only to sell turbines. We are building local delivery, services, spare parts and digital capabilities around the assets we supply.
The technology we are presenting in Hamburg will be supported by strong local execution in Türkiye. We want customers to see Envision as a reliable, full life-cycle partner.
Priorities for the Next 12 to 24 Months
Finally, looking ahead to the next 12 to 24 months, what do you see as the biggest opportunity for Envision in Türkiye, and what would success look like for the company in this market?
Ashoka Li: I think delivering the first project is very, very important. We have to gain the trust of our customers.
At the same time, we should build strong local capabilities — not only for delivery, but also for long-term services. That means building a national distribution centre, building a local services team, and making sure our customers’ assets are well supported by Envision.
Building a Local Delivery and Service Base
Li’s message from Hamburg was consistent throughout the interview: Envision’s latest onshore and offshore technology, and its integrated approach to wind, storage and AI, will be backed in Türkiye by a local delivery and service base. With its first 232 MW project nearing delivery, the company is positioning Karaman as the foundation of that platform and treating successful delivery and customer trust as the first measure of success.
Closing the conversation, Habib Babacan welcomed the presence of another global OEM in Türkiye, noting that it is good news for an increasingly competitive Turkish market, and congratulated Envision on its first project in the country.
