{"id":18092,"date":"2020-07-19T10:30:09","date_gmt":"2020-07-19T07:30:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ruzgarenerjisi.com.tr\/en\/?p=2978"},"modified":"2026-09-14T22:07:12","modified_gmt":"2026-09-14T19:07:12","slug":"windfloat-atlantic-fully-up-and-running","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ruzgarenerjisi.com.tr\/en\/windfloat-atlantic-fully-up-and-running\/","title":{"rendered":"WindFloat Atlantic fully up and running"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 25 MW WindFloat Atlantic floating offshore wind farm is now fully operational and supplying electricity to Portugal\u2019s electrical grid.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The\u00a0WindFloat Atlantic\u00a0project features three MHI Vestas 8.4 MW turbines mounted on Principle Power\u2019s semi-submersible floating foundations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following the connection of the last of the three wind turbines to the 20-kilometre export cable connecting the wind farm to the substation at Viana do Castelo, the construction of the wind farm is now complete.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WindFloat Atlantic is the world\u2019s first semi-submersible floating wind farm and will generate enough energy to supply the equivalent of 60,000 users per year, saving almost 1.1 million tons of CO2, the Windplus consortium said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The three floating turbines, the largest ever to be installed on a floating platform, were assembled at the Port of Ferrol in Spain prior to being\u00a0towed\u00a0to the installation site.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Windplus consortium comprises EDP Renewables, Engie, Repsol, and Principle Power.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 25 MW WindFloat Atlantic floating offshore wind farm is now fully operational and supplying electricity to Portugal\u2019s electrical grid.
