Featuring up to 7.3 MW of installed capacity, a 193-metre rotor and 95-metre single-piece blades, the new turbine is being positioned primarily for low- and medium-wind sites. Serial production is scheduled to begin in 2029.

Nordex Group announced the new Nordex N193/7.X turbine in Hamburg on 22 September 2026, expanding its Delta4000 product portfolio. According to the company, the new model combines technology already used across the Delta4000 platform with targeted developments intended to address energy yield, permitting requirements and project economics.

The turbine will be introduced in several nominal capacity configurations to meet different market and project requirements. Nordex says this flexibility will allow the N193/7.X to be configured according to varying site, regulatory and grid conditions.

Nordex N193/7.X combines a 193-metre rotor with up to 7.3 MW

One of the principal technical characteristics of the N193/7.X is its 193-metre rotor diameter. The turbine uses 95-metre single-piece blades and has an installed capacity of up to 7.3 MW.

According to Nordex, the configuration is intended particularly for low- and medium-wind sites. The company states that at typical low- to medium-wind locations, the N193/7.X can deliver up to 14% higher energy yield compared with the N175/6.X model. The figure represents a manufacturer-stated performance comparison for the specified site conditions.

A different initial configuration is planned for Germany. In the German market, the turbine will initially be offered with a maximum capacity of 6.6 MW.

Nordex says this configuration is intended to support project economics at medium- and low-wind sites while responding to permitting and grid connection requirements in the German market.

N193/7.X builds on the Delta4000 platform

Rather than introducing an entirely new turbine architecture, Nordex has developed the N193/7.X on the existing Delta4000 platform.

According to the company, major components including the nacelle, turbine control system and electrical architecture have been transferred from the existing platform and further optimised for changing market requirements.

Nordex says the use of an established platform also enables existing production, logistics and installation processes to be retained. The approach is intended to reduce the amount of new industrial infrastructure required when introducing the model while maintaining commonality with other Delta4000 turbines.

The turbine’s flexible power range is another element of the product strategy. Different operating modes can be selected to address energy yield, capacity factor, sound requirements and service life.

This means the N193/7.X can be configured according to the economic and regulatory requirements of individual projects rather than operating with a single standard specification across all markets.

Multiple tower technologies and configurations planned

Nordex also plans to offer the N193/7.X with multiple tower technologies and configuration options. According to the company, these alternatives are intended to allow the turbine to respond to different market requirements and site conditions.

Nordex Group CEO José Luis Blanco said the company is building on the existing Delta4000 platform while introducing targeted developments designed to create a flexible turbine for a broad range of sites and markets.

The launch also continues the expansion of Nordex’s portfolio in the higher-output segment of the onshore wind market while retaining the modular approach used across the Delta4000 platform.

Serial production scheduled for 2029

According to Nordex’s current development schedule, serial production of the N193/7.X is planned to begin in 2029. The model will therefore extend the Delta4000 family with a larger rotor configuration in the 7 MW-plus onshore turbine category.

Nordex Group states that it has commissioned more than 64 GW of wind power capacity across more than 40 markets since 1985. Its current portfolio focuses primarily on onshore wind turbines in the 4 MW to 7 MW-plus classes.

Nordex Group has added the N193/7.X to its Delta4000 onshore wind turbine platform.
