Senvion develops turbine for even more efficient energy generation
Senvion SE, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Suzlon Group and one of the world’s largest manufacturers of wind turbines, launches a new wind turbine on the market in spring 2015. The turbine type Senvion 3.2M122 is particularly suitable for low-wind sites and offers higher yields compared with its predecessors thanks to its capacity upgrade.
The Senvion 3.2M122 has a ratedoutput of 3.2 MW and a rotor diameter of 122 metres. Thanks to the large rotorcombined with the hub height of 139 metres and the new NES, use at low-windsites can be made even more cost-effective, thereby helping to reduce energycosts. In Germany, Senvion has installed over 400 wind turbines of the 3.XMseries, which together produce 1,400 MW and therefore independently supply900,000 households with electricity.
At the opening of HannoverMesse 2015, Senvion announced the Next Electrical System, which enables a morestable grid feed-in thanks to its improved properties that have been tailoredto the needs of grid operators. With the new 3.2M122 turbine, Senvion is takinganother step towards a more efficient production and more sustainableintegration of renewable energies into power grids.
