The Nordex Group has received a 56 MW order in Austria from WEB Windenergie AG. For the Auersthal RI repowering project in Lower Austria, the manufacturer will supply and install eight N175/6.X turbines – the first turbines of this type to be erected in the country. The order also includes a 25-year Premium Service agreement.

The order, announced by the Nordex Group in Hamburg on 1 October 2026, covers the Auersthal RI project in the Gänserndorf district of Lower Austria. Under the contract, Nordex is responsible for both the delivery and the installation of the eight turbines, while a Premium Service agreement running for 25 years forms part of the package.

A double milestone in the Austrian market

Auersthal marks a significant step for the Nordex Group in Austria. Besides being the country’s first N175/6.X installation, the eight-turbine project is also the largest single project the group has carried out in Austria so far.

Delta4000 turbines replace the existing fleet

Auersthal RI is a repowering project: the turbines currently operating at the site will be replaced with latest-generation machines, which, according to the company, will considerably raise the efficiency of wind power generation there.

Each N175/6.X turbine, part of the Delta4000 platform, has an installed capacity of 7 MW. Nordex says the model delivers high energy yields, particularly at inland sites, while making optimal use of the available land. Commissioning of the Auersthal turbines is scheduled for 2028.

Partners highlight repowering and long-term cooperation

Roman Prager, member of the W.E.B Executive Board, said the company was pleased to deepen its long-standing partnership with the municipality of Auersthal and to reach a milestone in its own history together with Nordex, noting that W.E.B is installing turbines of this size for the first time.

Karsten Brüggemann, Vice President Region Europe at the Nordex Group, described the order as evidence of the strong competitiveness of Nordex technology in the repowering segment. He added that modern turbines such as the N175/6.X help make more efficient use of existing sites and accelerate the expansion of renewable energy, and thanked W.E.B for its trust.
