Eksim Enerji, which operates entirely in renewable energy, held the third edition of its now-traditional Kite Festival at the Susurluk Wind Power Plant (WPP) in Balıkesir, Türkiye. Workshops on green energy and environmental awareness for children were organised at the festival under the company’s social impact programme “Yeteri Kadar” (Just Enough).

Eksim Enerji, which supports its renewable energy investments with social benefit initiatives, launched the festival to raise energy awareness among children. At the Susurluk event, children experienced the power of the wind with kites and also took part in workshops held under the “Yeteri Kadar” project.

After Seferihisar and Kayadüzü, Susurluk

The kite festival was previously held at the Seferihisar WPP in İzmir and the Kayadüzü WPP in Amasya. Commenting on the Susurluk edition, Eksim Enerji CEO Arkın Akbay said:

“At the third edition of the festival, we were delighted to host our children and teachers at our Susurluk power plant. While contributing to our country’s sustainable future through our renewable energy investments, we also attach importance to building strong ties with the people living in the regions where we operate. Our Kite Festival continues as one of the best examples of this approach. In Susurluk, too, we brought the power of wind in electricity generation together with our children’s imagination in an enjoyable way.”

“Yeteri Kadar” approach brought to the festival

Referring to the nature-friendly activities at the festival, Akbay added:

“As Eksim Enerji, while generating clean energy, we also focus on leaving a more liveable world to future generations. In this direction, as in previous editions, we brought the approach of the ‘Yeteri Kadar’ programme launched by Eksim Holding, of which we are a part, to this festival. With the nature-friendly activities and the painting workshop at our event site, we helped our children express their creativity and learn, in a fun way, the importance of protecting the environment and avoiding waste.”
