Dutch wind turbine developer Mega Windforce, Izmir-based industrial manufacturer Gimas and carbon fibre technology specialist Baltico have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore the development of an advanced carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) manufacturing facility. Locations in Türkiye and Malta are under consideration for the future production site.
Three partners, complementary strengths
The partnership brings together Baltico’s carbon fibre technology, Gimas’ industrial manufacturing expertise and Mega Windforce’s wind turbine technology patents. The initial focus will be on components for Mega Windforce’s WhisperRing wind turbine, while the partners also see significant potential for CFRP applications in other industries where low weight and high strength create competitive advantages.
The MoU is described as an important step towards combining innovative wind technology, advanced carbon manufacturing and industrial-scale production.
WhisperRing prototype targeted for end-2026
Mega Windforce is progressing with its WhisperRing prototype, which is targeted for completion by the end of 2026. The Dutch technology company focuses on affordable, local and scalable wind energy; its technology is protected by two patents and is being developed in the Netherlands together with specialised European technology and manufacturing partners.
About the partners
Gimas is a Türkiye-based industrial manufacturer with extensive experience in producing large, heavy and complex components to demanding tolerances, serving international customers across multiple sectors. Baltico specialises in advanced CFRP technology and manufacturing processes, developing lightweight, high-strength components for applications where conventional materials reach their technical or economic limits.
