Nordex Collaboration in Argentina
The Nordex Group plans enhancing power and growing in long tine in Argentina. The company made contract with Fábrica Argentina de Aviones “Brig. San Martin” S.A (FAdeA) for local turbine assembling.
Nacell and hub facility for the AW3000 turbine shall be started in Córdoba next year. 48 AW132/3300 turbines from AES Argentina Generación are will be produced in the location.
Assembly Shop
The assembly shop has a design for an annual capacity of up to 150 turbines of the 3 MW class It’s equal to a potential output of 500 MW. Since Nordex Group also plans 2 concrete towers, local share in Nordex Group will rise to 36 percent.
The nacelles & hubs facility will employ up to 100 experts, plus 200 employees more in each towers.
Strategic and sustainable FAdeA
Oscar Aguad, Minister of Defense of Argentina, emphasized that “We wanted to develop a strategic and sustainable FAdeA. In order to achieve this goal we had to generate new businesses in the aeronautical industry. Like, as well as in industries with similar technological characteristics, highly demanding and with potential for development, such as wind energy.” Then he added “This, together with recently signed agreements with leading international companies in the commercial and military aviation industry. And brings us closer to our objective for 2023. That FAdeA’s revenues should come 50% from the State and 50% from Third Parties”. Then, he finally concluded “the industrial & metallurgical sector must take good note of the value they can bring to this growing commercial development”.

FAdeA has a close relationship with Argentine Ministry of Defense for about 90 years in aeronautics. Today, pursuing a new vision, the company developed, now adding sustainable energy to its context.
The Nordex Group – a profile
The Group has installed a capacity of more than 23 GW at more than 25 markets in 2017. So, the return of this has been EUR 3.1 billion. The company currently has about 5,000 employees. The united production capability involves factories in Germany, Spain, Brazil, the United States and India. This way, the product portfolio denses on onshore turbines 1.5 to 4.8 MW category. These are tailored for the markets in countries which has limited space and grid capacity.
